A Tête-à-tête with Silence

Many moons ago, there was someone I didn't know,
Not very friendly, but she liked to go with the flow.
'Silence', she was called, came to meet a select few,
As a kid, ‘noise’ was all that I knew!
Fun, laughter and lots of merry-making,
No worries or fears about people faking.
'Trust' was a familiar word, easy to believe,
I wouldn't feel hurt too often, it was easy to forgive.
Gradually, I understood what ‘quiet’ meant,
In memory making, time was happily spent.
Indulged in star-gazing and watched seasons taking twists & turns,
Fell for words, blushed at poems and laughed at jokes
& puns.
Befriended emotions and feelings. To my surprise,
Silence was indeed noisy, she had the powers to lovingly mesmerise!
